INTRO
Inspired by George Orwell's anti-utopian novel 1984 and Muse's 2009 album Resistance. Out of a preference for the originals and a love of the motion picture industry, I decided to expand this desperate anti-utopian background via fictionalized Netflix series as the foundation.
DESIGN RATIONALE
The piece focused on side power in the original story, Eurasia, Oceania's major continental rival, as the main body, keeping the original narrative while efficiently expanding the worldview.
Inline with 1984's geographic and time narrative. As the creator I set the landscape in Cairo, as the front line of the war between the two superpowers. Regarding Eurasia's setting and political spectrum, artwork featured iconic 80s Soviet and Euro Air Force.
